Chapter 9 - done! All 1,830 words of it. ;) I'm kind of second-guessing it already. In it, Calista confronts her mother and demands answers. I sort of feel like not much is revealed and it sort of goes in circles - but maybe that is what I want to convey? The family secrets wouldn't just all come out in a quick discussion, after all. I won't worry about it now. I just want the story written, and then I can worry about the technicalities in edits.
Word count is now 24,290 with 78 pages typed. I'm hoping to work on Ch. 10 tomorrow sometime. This chapter may prove to be a bit more difficult. It will center more on Eliza, and I'm still struggling on how to write her dialogue. I want her accent and manner of speaking to be apparently Irish. But I'm thinking I will have to work on that in edits with research and possibly the help of a native-speaking Irish person. Again, may just work on getting story written and I can always go back and fix any historical inaccuracies or accents later.
ETA: Had to update word count. A bit of a scene suddenly came to me so I wanted to write it out quick. So, count is now at 24, 739 and the new addition also bumped me up to 80 pages. :)
